BURN THE BOOKS
Poem: Billy Alsbrooks

There is no separation, we merely war with her illusions
Let us not entertain the shadows, nor breathe air into their lungs
Who have you brought with you, that shouldn’t be here?
The dead belong not at our table
Come now, burn the books that reference yesterday
We shall rid our sacred house of death and lies
For Six days, we shall toil the soil of our minds
And on the seventh, our peace shall be established

As we awaken, the skies fall down upon us
What we knew as boundaries are no more
Limits have died to the beauty of possibility
Let us ascend now and seize back our throne
Sickness has no teeth, just rotten gums
The desert wastelands imprison us no longer
Lack and scarcity are refugees here
For Heaven’s streets are paved with gold

Uncommon believers, the citizens of this realm
Awareness, the sun that lights this world
Undefiled thinking, the currency of paradise
So let us spend our money like drunken sailors
Divine minds don’t swim in man made rivers
Those who seek truth shall find their way
For we sailed the seas of ignorance for millenniums
But now, we shall celebrate the homecoming
Burn the books, as the skies fall down upon us
Burn the books, as the skies fall down upon us…
