TWELVE LIARS

Poem By: Billy Alsbrooks

_______________________________________

I’m not sure I can feel anymore

It’s been a while

Don’t know what’s real anymore

It’s been a while

Ask me

Ask me about the summer I broke all the rules

Ask me

_______________________________________

Born in the cellar

It took twelve liars to find you

But we almost kissed

Almost

But the river had teeth

_______________________________________

Say something

Anything

For hate has a hold on me

You wouldn’t dare

You wouldn’t dare but gravity would

_______________________________________

Lost

Broken

Confused

Where am I?

WHERE AM I?

_______________________________________

I’ve lost my bearings

Trapped somewhere between the wrath and dawn

We almost kissed

Almost

But the river had teeth

_______________________________________

I’m not sure I can love again

It’s been a while

Don’t know if I can love again

It’s been a while

Ask me

Ask me about the winter I broke all the rules

Ask me

_______________________________________

Raised in the ruins

It took twelve liars to lose you

But we almost kissed

Almost

But the river had teeth

_______________________________________

Say something

Anything

For fate has a hold on me

You wouldn’t dare

You wouldn’t dare but gravity would

_______________________________________

Lost

Broken

Confused

Where are you?

WHERE ARE YOU?

_______________________________________

I lost my bearings

Trapped somewhere between the dead and living

We almost kissed

Almost

But the river had teeth

_______________________________________

My nemesis

My nemesis in the light, I hate you

Yet in some weird way, I crave you

Yet in some weird way, I crave you

_______________________________________

My dearest

My dearest in the darkness, I need you

But going dark aroused the monsters

But going dark aroused the monsters

Twelve liars…
