I almost saved us
Saved me
I did
Almost

I found all the right words
Practiced them
Memorized them
And when the moment finally arrived
I almost said them to you

Not sure what happened though
But the unsaid haunts me
Every time I replay it in my mind
It almost kills me
_________________________________________
I had it
Had it all
I did
Almost
_________________________________________
I wanted to give you everything
All of me
And when the night came
I almost got to the point where I could be vulnerable
Almost got to the point where I believed in miracles again
Almost

Not sure why I ran though
But my cowardice haunts me
Every time I think of the damage I caused you
It almost kills me
It does

Yesterday when I saw you
I almost apologized
I wanted to
Needed to
You were almost ready to forgive me
Ready to give me another chance
Then the panic set in
_________________________________________
I almost couldn’t breathe
The room was spinning violently
My heart was screaming pathetically
You’re almost worthy enough
Almost worthy enough for her to love you
But don’t fool yourself
You’re just not on her level
She’s out of your league

Now I sit here dying
Dying under the weight of almost
